First post of the year

Starting the year with a good old hangover. Just as it is supposed to be.
I went to a new year's party where I barely knew any one. Anomity definitely gives you freedom to have a good time.

So, how do you deal with a hangover being a vegetarian?

Well, before I went to bed I had a big bowl of beans. Me and hubby eating rice and beans at 5 AM was something I don't remember happening before. And we took a pill of a herb called in Brazil "carqueja" (Baccharis trimera) that is known to dis-intoxicate the liver.

This morning I still feel a little dizzy, but I don't feel sick. He was fine. A good night of sleep and we will be already ready for 2014.

Happy new year!!

New Year's Resolution

Nothing new about a new year's resolution. I have made thousands of them. I will share with you my resolution for 2014. Becoming a Vegetarian! It is not the first time I try but this time will stick and I will have this blog, maybe it will help me not to brake it within the first weeks.

It is very trendy now to be a vegetarian, most educated people are very aware of their own health and eating habits. This trend seems to be more, I believe, than the desire of being fit and elegant. Maybe it has to do with all the information we have access to or maybe the devastation to what used to be called real food. It is the fight against the industrialized, mass productions, animal rights, etc. We might very well be replacing the "Coca-Cola" generation with the "green/organic" generation.

I was a vegetarian once, but then it was easy, my mom used to cooked all of the most delicious things there were, all green and fresh, and I only had to pick and say the menu. Once I got married and went to live to a foreign country where I could barely understand what is what, I had to give up on my eating habits. It did not help having the biggest carnivorous in Europe as a husband. He doesn't eat much, but cannot skip the meat in a meal.

I have no intention of losing weight and I am actually curious if blogging will help me keep my resolution and also I want the incentive to research recipes, healthier life styles and use my new Nikon 3100.

My physical profile is very average:
Height: 1.64
Weight: 50.8 kg
Waist: 72 cm
Hips: 90 cm
Mood: anxious and depressed (infertility reasons)
Energy: average but sedentary life style

See you in 2014!
:)
